John Thuppayath is a second-year MPhil student at Oriel College under the supervision of Professor Hindy Najman. Prior to Oxford, he undertook his basic theological training in his native South India, earning an external BD from the University of London. John then graduated with distinction with an MA in Ancient Philology from POLIS Jerusalem.
John’s research explores Ancient Hebrew poetry and metaphysical language in Second Temple Judaism, particularly in the Book of Job, Philo, and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
