Tilly’s research centres on exploring the tensions that occur between diverse linguistic and cultural nuances in biblical texts and versions. This year, her research delves into ‘mapping’ the concept of incest across the Hebrew Bible, Septuagint, and Iuxta Hebraeos. Her thesis consists of a comparitive linguistic analysis, priving thre translations of taboo elements in each text and examining cultural variations in defining ‘incest’ across literary and cultural contexts.
