Ms Helen Hambling

BA

Helen Hambling is a first-year MPhil student in Theology and Religion, supervised by Professor Hindy Najman. She is based at Wycliffe Hall, where she is also training for Anglican ordination, and her research is generously funded by the Church of England and the Squire and Marriott Trust.

Helen completed her BA in Theology and Religion at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, in 2025, in which she received the Denyer and Johnson Prize and the Catherine of Alexandria Prize for her performance in the Final Honour School.

She hopes to focus her research on creation motifs in the prophets. Other research interests include ancient Biblical translation; typology; the relationship between performance, textuality and pluriformity; time and the apocalyptic; and the interplay between psalms and prophecy.
